Laurence Menotti-Chevennement's professional career began in 1986 when she started with the Ballet du Nord Company (France) where she was principal dancer for fifteen years.  In 1989, she had a fabulous opportunity to dance For T's from Georges Balanchine with the star from the New York City Ballet.  During these years, she has performed in works by Paul Taylor, Jose Limon, Martha Graham, Ali Pourfarrouk, Robert North, and John Taras, among others.  In 2001, she joined the Alberta Ballet company where she danced principal roles, and in 2003, she started teaching private ballet classes.  She has a State Diploma of Dance Teaching issued by the French government.

Jennifer Mills
Artistic Director - Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary

Jen has studied ballet, jazz, tap, lyrical, contemporary, hip hop and classical piano, extensively since the age of three. Since that time she has taken part in various competitions and performances as well as completing her major exams in Cecchetti, RAD, Vaganova, and the Royal Conservatory of Music. Jen has traveled the world to such destinations as Romania; touring with TERPICHICOIRE 1, commissioned by the Minister of Education of Romania as an instructor, choreographer, and performer who loves to push the limits of dance. As well as promotional work for Calvin Klein, Lancome and Elizabeth Arden, Jen has taught swing for The Big Bad Voodoo Daddies, and performed as a principal dancer in Bill Robertson’s film, The Mystic Village.

Jen is living her passion as the Artistic Director and owner of Hyperflex Dance Studio. She is a teacher and choreographer to many students, as well as a guest choreographer and judge throughout Canada and the United States. Her expertise has allowed her to work with many talented dancers and help them grow not only as dancers but as amazing people. Jen has also taken her talent in to the figure skating, and fitness worlds working with Olympic figure skating competitors and hopefuls, including the champions of Canada, Sweden, Finland, and Italy; as well she is the choreographer to the world figure and fitness champions. Within the 17 years in which she has instructed, Jen and her students have won various awards in Canada and the United States both for their performances and for her choreography.  Jen continues to strive to pursue excellence in the art of dance both for herself, and her students.

Ballet - Artistic Director of Citie Ballet

Francois trained at the National Conservatory of Dance in Avignon, France.  Over the past 15 years he has performed principal and soloist roles in many of the great classical ballets such as Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Coppelia, Paquita and the Nutcracker.  He has danced in the ballets of major choreographers of this century including George Balanchine, Paul Taylor, John Butler and Jose Limon and has worked with some of today's leading contemporary choreographers such as Robert North, Jennifer Muller, Margo Sappington and Jean Paul Comelin.  Francois began his teaching career with the School of Dance of Mende and was awarded the State Diploma of Teach of Classical Dance (France) in 1994.  His personable approach is always well received.

Tap

Robin has trained in numerous forms of dance including tap, jazz and ballet for eighteen years and has completed her grade nine Al Gilbert Tap Exam with honors.  Robin has taken classes and participated in workshops in Disneyland, Los Angeles and Vancouver as well as choreographed for traveling groups to perform in Disneyland and the Caribbean. 

 

Robin has spent the last ten years teaching and sharing her extensive knowledge and skill.  Each class is met with her enthusiasm and love for dance as she prepares her students for tap exams and performing.

Hip Hop, Pre-school

Tara Kammerer has been training in the Edmonton area since the age of 6.  She has studied hip hop, jazz, ballet, tap and lyrical.  Her achievements through dance have resulted in many awards in Canada and the United States.  Tara's ability to work with children is inspiring, her students find her positive, rewarding and fun.
